Zuchen Li

Team Lead @ SOCIE

Hi! I’m Zuchen Li, the founder of Scholarcie (SOCIE) and a passionate undergraduate at the University of Michigan. My studies span History, Statistics, Meteorology, and Computer Science, where I revel in uncovering the unique intersections of these fields. My prior research includes conducting CFD simulations on airborne particles at the Environment-Enhancing Lab and leading a team on a machine learning project based on meteorological data to predict flight delays. Presently, I am a summer research intern employing deep learning methods to explore the complex relationships between aerosols and clouds at GripS.

The inspiration to create SOCIE stemmed from challenges I faced during my undergraduate research: many students are passionate yet unsure about how to begin their research journey. Despite interactions with professors or mentors, there is often a lack of clear guidance from experienced peers. Consequently, I assembled our SOCIE LEAD team to establish this initiative, aimed at assisting young, enthusiastic explorers in navigating the world of research more effectively. Silvia Chen

Tech Lead @ SOCIE

Hey this is Silvia. I’m currently studying Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where my academic interests include Large Language Models, generative AI, and their applications. I’m also a software engineer intern at EMQ Technologies, where I am developing a customer service agent using LLM. I plan to share my insights and ideas through regular blog posts and YouTube videos as they arise during my development journey. Feel free to join my Discord server at for updates and more!

As a member of the leading team at SOCIE, I am thrilled about introducing more interactive elements to our forums. Our initial initiatives include hosting talks by distinguished scholars on trending topics and sharing opportunities for students seeking research assistantships. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@scholarcie.org.

I am passionately committed to advancing freedom of expression and fostering academic independence. Additionally, I am engaged in an innovative project on Multi-modal Logistics Large Language Models at Zhejiang University’s Smart Urban Future Laboratory, collaborating with esteemed colleagues to push the boundaries of urban technology and intelligent systems.

We have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.
